Markel Corp , a Fortune 500 Insurer with a market cap of $3 Billion , owns 615,099 LFGRQ shares as recently as November 19th , 2008 .

I have quietly hoped that Markel would be the acquirer of the remaining LandAmerica subsidiaries , as I have been a past shareholder of MKL and I really like the company .

Regardless to whomever buys the LandAmerica subs in whole or in part it will be another Industry Leader(s) that will be the buyer(s) .
