upc, sorry that I misunderstood your post. I thought it was concerns over lower GMs because of product price cuts, but after rereading it, I see it's about covering for lower GMs by cutting channel rebates. To me, it looks like the article is missing some context. What were the rebates originally trying to promote? It's pretty harmless to end rebates when a promotion ends, for example, but if Intel is ending rebates to cut product costs right before the end of the quarter, then that's not a good thing.
