That paragraph you mentioned states the case very concisely for AMD's 64-bit-extended x86 architecture which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit applications and can execute both simultaneously.

He's absoloutely right... If there's just one 64-bit application you need (or want), and everything else is 32-bits, well, where else are you going to go but with an extended x86 system? And if you want the best, your only choice is AMD!

So I'll just have to assume that he's merely a very reasoned AMD fan, and uses terms like "'droid" etc. only to zealously dissuade apparent irrational attachment to the company.
