It's an interesting sentiment, no question. Sanders and Ruiz have already done plenty of damage to Intel. Unfortunately (for them, and now AMD employees) they have nothing to show for it. They really did think the K8 vs. P4 days would last forever. They had a couple of good runs in the original Athlon and K8 heydays, when everything aligned just about perfectly for them. The last heyday, with K8, did a great deal of harm to Intel due to the new competition in high-margin spaces which simply didn't exist before. Intel still hasn't recovered, though with the strength of Core 2 and now Nehalem on the way I see significantly reduced competition in the server space over the next couple of years.
