AGRD---Armor Plate:
During the patent search proceedings for our plasma glass coating, several applications of this technology became apparent. In theory, by changing the material slightly but using the same technique, we can add an extremely hard coating to just about anything. One of the many applications discovered was in the field of armor plating.

Our lab created several small sample plates for testing. An independent lab in Austin, Texas carried out tests using a wide variety of weaponry, and specifically the 7.62 x 51 mm round (the standard NATO-issue military round), at a distance of 50 feet. Testers shot the plate with the armor coating, took photographs, and fired again at the uncoated backside of the plate. Comparisons were highly favorable for the armor plating.

We are currently working on improving and protecting this finding by filing patents and running more tests, as well as gearing up to be able to manufacture and eventually bring this product to market.

Airport Security Software:
In response to the tragedy of September 11 and in pursuit of compliance with the Patriot Act, AüGRID’s team created a conceptual security program to contribute to the safety of our homeland airports. The original project was assigned to the Database Group, an Ohio custom software specialist, to co-develop a program using existing RFID technology and proprietary hardware and software to develop an exclusive state-of-the-art integrated airport security system. The program will be launched by AüGRID Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary, Codestar Corporation.

In pursuing the recommendations of the September 11 Investigation Panel, a second phase was added to the project. The second phase relates to the communication and notification of key personnel and agencies in a secure and timely manner, in the case of an emergency. Codestar®©™ is designed to track baggage and passengers at the curb, both in the terminals and in the air, and is intended to bring greater security and peace of mind both to travelers and to airport personnel.

Plasma Glass Front Plate Coating:
AüGRID Corporation has filed for two patents to protect our intellectual property relating to plasma glass technology.

The applications, U.S. Patent Application #10/465729 and International Patent Application #PCT/US2003/019479, address fundamental problems with plasma glass and the plasma industry in general. These patents cover a plasma glass coating and the process of applying it to the front plate. This will address the following issues associated with plasma glass:

1) Emissions of ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) light;
2) Achieving a better color balance through a color filter; and
3) Protecting the front glass plate in order to significantly reduce and potentially eliminate fixed-image burn-in.

With the help of overseas consultants, AüGRID is currently in discussions with several glass substrate manufacturers in Japan and elsewhere in order to license and advance this technology.
