From a previous discussion I've had with Darryl, there are quite a few brokerages and software providers that have trading platforms that attempt to integrate with Excel, but they are not very good. They don't perform nearly as fast as STv2 and in the world of electronic and algo trading, speed is everything.
According to this link, TT's "Autotrader" has been a feature of their core trading platform since 2002...so it's nothing new.
