You, as owner of a share of a share of series R Preferreds, have the same rights as any other owner of shares of series R Preferreds, no matter when you bought.

If I bought shares on December 31, 2007 for $500.00, your shares bought today for ~$4.00 are the same as mine, you just happen to have gotten yours cheap.
