The 25th session of the Governing Council / Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) will be held from 16-20 February 2009 at the United Nations Office in Nairobi, Kenya.

LET'S MAKE IT GREEN
The GC/GMEF will continue to move towards climate neutrality in its 25th session. New initiatives to monitor and reduce significant impacts on the environment, such as greenhouse gas emissions, waste products and water usage will be implemented when "greening the GC" in Nairobi, Kenya.

UNEP is showcasing a Technology Tent at the 25th Sessions of the Governing Council / Global Ministerial Environment Forum and Global Civil Society Forum. The Technology Tent will feature innovative technologies that can assist countries around the world in addressing environmental concerns, including mitigating and adapting to climate change, using natural resources more efficiently, ensuring environmentally sound management of chemicals, reducing pollution and environmental monitoring.
Up to 25 organizations including Phillips, Neonlite and Sasakawa Prize winners will showcase products within the Technology Tent.
The Technology Tent will also provide delegates with a relaxed venue to enjoy a variety of services including:
* Informal meeting area with sofas and coffee tables;
* Café area with complimentary drink and snacks available throughout the day;
* Business lounge with free Internet access and printing services;
* Plasma screens to keep delegates in-touch with world news via CNBC or CNN news channels.
