My money's on the paid member.

For one, he/she has a reputation to uphold and lying about a phone conversation pretty much adds him/her to the indefinite "ignore" list.

I also feel strongly (having worked in Law Enforcement for a while, now part-time), that "Jan" could have a strong libel/slander case if in fact she does exist and did not partake in said recording.

Something is definitely not right. We all know that, and only one man or company can sort out the situation.
