4 December 2008 “A coal-to-diesel plant is in the works for Muhlenberg County, and despite some problems State Representative Brent Yonts tells 14 News he's working on an almost daily basis to get that plant built.”

21 November 2008 “Carbon sequestration, one of the buzz words I talked about, and other methods can help power companies burn coal cleaner while technology like turning coal into liquid transportation fuel (as we are preparing to do here in Muhlenberg County) will expand the market. All we as Kentuckians have to do is share in the creation of these technologies, as recent state laws are helping us to do, and keep producing coal just like we have for over 180 years.”

Doc II and Doc I , Like both of you I have tried to be as optimistic as possible concerning the path forward for this company but recently my optimism has been deteriorating as well. All companies have their ups and down but this one is definitely the most mysterious of any I have ever invested in of this type. The company is not mentioned by name but recent statements just weeks ago from Brent Yonts to NBC 14 say that the coal-to-diesel project in Muhlenberg County is being worked by him almost daily. If this is the case why the complete silence from the company? Why the deflated PPS? Why some of these recent volume levels if the company were a complete lost cause? FFI spinning off, yes possible I guess but after NSOL put out statements last summer that they were focusing resources into development of this CTL project it would look very bad in terms of public relations regardless of the legalities of it if the intent were to leave the supporting share holders in the dust. I can’t see that the Kentucky Government would in any way work with a company that had an intent to do something so blatant which could at some point reflect badly on the state, in my opinion only.

So there are a whole lot of things that just don’t add up to me. Just thought Id throw out these things for us all to kick around and maybe help us to define more what’s going on. Things do not appear to be all that well but at least it is good to hear a recent government view of the situation.
