APTILO IN BRIEF
Aptilo Networks develops system solutions for PWLAN (Public Wireless LAN), also referred to as hotspots or Wi-Fi areas. The solution enables wireless Internet access at public venues and places such as hotels, coffee shops, airports and conference centers.
The technological development of what is today known as the Aptilo Service Management Platform and the Aptilo Access Gateway began back in 1999. Aptilo Networks was founded as a company in June 2001.
Aptilo Networks' solution is designed and developed to meet the needs of telecom operators, ISPs and other service providers providing professional, carrier-class access, public WLAN services. Managed PWLAN services are provided based on the Aptilo solution to kick-start a service provider's hotspot services or for a hotel chain or stand-alone airports to provide hotspot services at their venues.
The company is based in Stockholm, Sweden, with regional offices in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Dallas, in Texas, USA. Aptilo systems are up and running in 30 countries on five continents.
The co-founders of Aptilo Networks have long experience and deep knowledge in telecom, network solutions and software development. Prior to Aptilo Networks they held management positions at various well-known companies such as Ericsson, Sun Microsystems and Sonera.
