from George Shilling about patent question..
The article was in Techworld about a month ago. I've had many
discussions with Peter Judge. He is pro Bird Step. The funny part is Bird Step came to us in Baltimore looking for solutions for VoIP. Also, Bird Step just sold all their IP to an Asian company. I don't know who paid Metrix, the analyst firm he refers to, to initiate the research, but it was definitely slanted. It sounded like a sales pitch for the report ($295). Maybe Judge makes a commission. Is the patent bullet proof? I don't know. We haven't had the opportunity to test that yet.
However, after a review of our patent by a reputable law firm, they have agreed to take infringement cases on a contingency basis. So in that respect, I assume the patent is pretty strong. In addition, our ASNAPtm technology stands alone and has been recognized by major carriers as a viable solution for their involvement in Wi-Fi deployment. We are a technology company with a great solutions product for the telecommunications industry. We are not just trying to make money off
the patent.
