Moderating a board can have it's dilemmas.

For me I'd like to know which companies are getting listed.. whether PetroAlgae gets uplisted on the OTCBB, or Sapphire Energy gets listed on the AMEX or NYSE. That tells me a company is moving up.. and is that not what we are all here for in a way? To see these algae companies advance forward in the algae sector? Personally I do not own shares of PetroAlgae and really do not have plans to since I don't know enough about the feasibility of PetroAlgae's system or their available funding. But since it was in the news as one of the algae companies "moving up" in the exchange, then I feel it should be posted, and I was surprised to see a 1000%+ gain in one day.. I don't know exactly how uplisting works. If GSPI gets uplisted then that too should be posted. If OOIL gets uplisted, it should be posted. If Sapphire Energy, Solazyme, Solix, etc gets listed on any exchange then they should be posted as well... not to post that is doing a dis-service to this board. We need to know who is moving up.. especially in the exchanges. That to me is a sign a company may be headed in the right direction.

But my dilemma is what to do if we get side tracked into discussion not related to the algae sector.

Ex. if we find ourselves in a detailed discussion about GSPI's canola based biodiesel plant that is in the process of making spec fuel, then I feel we are moving away from the focus: algae. If they ran a plant that is producing algae, then that should be covered. If we get into detailed discussions specifically about the Cyclone Engine (even though it runs on algae biofuel) then that too can get side tracked if the topic moves away from algae. So it's like a fine line to manage content of a board and to make sure we don't get side tracked into other topics.

I have since decided to use the delete option less, but if the board really gets side tracked away from it's focus, then I will just remind the board to swing back on topic and may delete really off topic posts that are offensive or really have nothing to do with the board, or clear violations of TOS. again more fine lines to deal with. So hope that helps and all your input also helps!
