It is definitely refreshing to see the sp move up but there is a downside for us older IRA holders. The more the IRA is worth on Dec.31 the more you have to take out due to the MRD rule if you are 70 1/2 yrs of age. With as much as some hold it can be a significant increase in the Minimum Required Distribution at the end of the next year. Of course in 2010 I hope to have a $100,000 MRD. That would make me very happy.
