Two socket Nehalem Xeon completely crushes all opposition
in SAP-SD benchmarks
http://www.sap.com/solutions/b...k/sd2tier.epx?num=20
2s/8c Nehalem Xeon x5570 (2.93 GHz) - 4995 users
2s/16c Niagara 2 T5250 (1.4 GHz) - 4170 users
2s/8c Shanghai K10 2384 (2.7 GHz) - 2752 users
2s/8c Harpertown Xeon x5470 (3.33 GHz) - 2518 users
2s/4c Power6 p570 (4.7 GHz) - 2035 users
Of course a two socket Xeon box will sell for far less than
what Sun has been charging for two socket T2 boxes and
the Xeon box is fully general purpose and is good for any
type of workload (it gets more throughput with 16 threads
than T5250 gets with 128 threads).
