Q: How dependent is e.Digital on DataPlay-enabled products for revenue?
A: We fully support DataPlay and have worked closely with them for more than a year. We have completed our Non-Recurring Engineering on DataPlay-enabled music player platforms and continue providing support for the manufacturing ramp-up of consumer products.
However, with any new technology such as DataPlay, the rate of success will depend on market acceptance and penetration. We believe that the backing of digital content providers such as major record labels will be the key to how quickly DataPlay becomes successful. While we will receive royalties on DataPlay-enabled products incorporating e.Digital technology, we do not expect these royalties to comprise a significant percentage of our revenue during calendar year 2002.
Q: When is the next e.Digital quarterly conference call and webcast?
A: Because we have a March 31 fiscal year end, our next regularly-scheduled conference call would not be until early July. We plan to hold an interim conference call and webcast before the end of May to provide investors, analysts, and shareholders with an update and revenue guidance. This will be in addition to our regular quarterly calls. The specific date and time will be announced and published on our web site before the event.
Our fully-audited annual financial report (Form 10-K) from Ernst & Young is scheduled to be filed before the end of June.
