What happens in Las Vegas, stays in Las Vegas -- except, apparently, for Comdex. Once the mother of all tech trade shows and an annual fixture in Las Vegas for 20 years, Comdex won't be held this November. Instead, the San Francisco firm that stages the show is trying to regroup from years of declining attendance. Medialive International, Inc. said Wednesday it would postpone this year's Comdex. However the company has booked the Las Vegas Convention Center for Nov. 13-17, 2005, for a planned revival. Interest in Comdex reached its high point in 2000, when 200,000 tech warriors checked out the hottest new gadgets, generating $225 million in non- gambling revenue for the Las Vegas economy, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Bureau. But by last year, attendance had fallen to 51,000, the bureau said, with a non-gambling economic impact of $69.5 million.
