They absolutely seem to not have any clue what so ever about what caused the previous Great Depression. While it's true the stock market collapse in the late '20's started things downhill, the real reason is because "the powers that be" stood around with their respective fingers up their respective butts doing nothing as banks started failing, etc, etc, etc, etc.
So they pass TARP and what's been done with that so far? Not a heck of a lot except bail out companies like AIG. Companies that don't really PRODUCE anything.
But the car companies that are making REAL products, oh no, we can't help them.
If anyone starts seeing multiple banks going down the tubes, best go to all cash and get ready to "head for the hills".
