Penys - First, several of the so called "bashers" who post on this message board in fact are NOT Berlin residents (as you well know)... Clearly, those individuals have an agenda of their own which has nothing to do with the best interests of the community of Berlin (or the shareholders of the Company for that matter)...
Second, you are partially correct when you comment that some local residents have greater access to local politicians and others in the local government... This may indeed provide them with a different perspective at times than shareholders in LLEG stock...
Unfortunately for those so called "bashers", they do not appear to have any direct communication with the management of Laidlaw which shareholders and potential shareholders make the effort to establish... Therefore, many of the long term investors in the Company have a different perspective and arrive at different conclusions than the local residents and other non-resident so called "bashers"...
So, both sides in the controversy seems to have different perspectives based on access to different information (with some overlap of information)... Consequently, the so called "bashers" continue to create a storm of negative postings, while the long term investors continue to hold their positions reflecting confidence in the eventual success of the Company (whether that takes another month or year or several years)...
I think most long term holders would agree that at current price levels the upside potential in the stock is tremendous, while the downside risk is quite limited...
