Without any doubt in my mind, the auto industry would receive some form of bailout. The country could afford nothing less! Too many individuals and corporations would go belly up without it. TOO many! It would cause a depression in my mind and that is far worse consequences than where we are today. Now with that said, regardless if GM has some contracts on the GTM or not, that piece I think is far from their minds. They have too many other worries. IF the GTM comes out on time, this really is no different than any other high end automobile. The high ends, mercedes, jaguars and the likes are still selling these types of vehicles. Period. They always will because those that have, can afford. Those that don't, are what is causing the auto industries crisis. We the average Joe out there, do not buy the high end vehicles, we buy Chevy, ford, chrysler etc. That is what we can somewhat afford. With the financial crisis where it is today, we the average Joe are the ones hurting the most. That is why they are in their dillema. How many cars have you bought in the last 5 years? How many have the middle to lower class people bought in the last 5 years? How many cars have the well paid people bought in the last 5 years? How about guys just like Leno who move into large warehouse type facilities as their car collection grows? That is where the GTM fits more into. Those that can afford. I think IF the GTM comes out, it will succeed because there is a market for this type of car. However, it must come out in order to sell. That is where we are stuck betweeen a rock and a hard place. We have nothing without it. What we have without the GTM is some mods to vehicles that if you or I are financially hurting, we are not going to do to our vehicles. That ....is the bottom line in my eyes. FWIW!!! JMHO!!! GLTY!
