If you listen to the whole interview with Michael Hartnett of Merrill Lynch he is predicting the possibility lower oil prices in the near term but an average oil price of $50 for the year as the world economy snaps back, Also Merrill's Francisco Blanch, head of global commodities research indicated today that they are predicting a average oil price of $43 for first quarter of 2009 and $50 for year.

If you listen to inverview's listen to the whole thing do not just pick up on the headline which is written to catch the eye (Examples: Oil to go to $200 - Oil to go to $25)
