guys - Retirement woes

Nearly half of U.S. workers, 49 percent, say their standard of living in retirement will be worse than it is now, up from 29 percent who said so a year ago, according to a new survey of workers worldwide.

And just 24 percent of Americans say they'll have enough money to cover basic expenses during retirement, according to the survey conducted for The Principal Financial Group by market-research firm Mathew Greenwald and Associates.

Given the stock market's rise last year, the study's authors expected workers' optimism to improve. But anecdotal evidence points to a growing penchant for retirement planning --and that's leading to more worry, said Norman Sorensen, president of Principal International, a division of The Principal Financial Group.

Pennies not a zero sum game as much as some zero game.
