I am a newbie. I was diagnosed on 9/11, had surgery 9/24 and was staged as 3C colon cancer. I was also tested for the Kras mutation, but was told that it would not work for me. I am now ready to start chemo, Folfox, oxiplatin and leucovorin, but I was told that Leucovorin was not available and my onc could not find it anywhere. He indicated that I should still be ok if I continued with the treatment. I am a bit leary about this and found some research saying the leucovorin is more effective with the 5-FU. Has anyone had this problem? I am not sure if I should start the treatment without this or if I should just wait until leucovorin becomes available....in which he says that it should be available soon. I know that there arent any guarantees on anything, but I would like to know that i have done all that I could do to get past this. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would really appreciate some guidance.
