LC45, I agree with your assessment of the SRSR board.

My experience moderating a board has lead me to this conclusion:

When a complaint is filed for any reason by ANYT board member, Ihub admin assigns a member or two of the modsquad. We don't know who these individuals are, whether they have any clear notion of what is on topic or not, what their agenda is or anything else. All we know is that they can delete at will without any accountability, and the board's mods cannot reinstate the post. At least when the Admin deletes you know who did it and can turn to them to appeal if necessary.

Ihub is a big big family, and not always so happy. When the parents get word in one of the playrooms, they come in wanting just one thing: "QUIET". They don't care who's "right", who started it, who did what to who, they just what this racket to quit. This is why they use the baby-in-a-crib icon when they give you a time out. LOL

So, if you want some autonomy, some freedom in the room, everyone has to agree to get along and not tattle to the parental units. They just don't have the time to deliver well reasearched and well reasoned justice. That ultimately is up to us.

the only control Turbo has is to manage his Assts. Otherwise, the asst's can do everything a mod can do. Mod Squad and Admin "Higher Powers" trump all.

My suggestion: Post rules that everyone can agree on. And enforce them equally.

My favorite board rule I've seen so far: "During Market hours all post MUST be on topic, thereafter and weekends the rules can bend a little, but always within the confines of the TOU"

Seems like a nice compromise. Turbo, I found that by appealing to the ADMIN that you are willing to try something new like this, have spoken with all Assts. and have announced it on the board has brought results. IE They backed off and let things play out.

Hope this helps a little

w/r and imho
