From Brian Dipert at EDN Magazine......in response to a question about MicrOS.
Steve, MicroOS is simply a flash-aware file system, that comprehends (compared to HDDs) flash memory's inability to change '0's back to '1's on a bit-by-bit basis (ie block erase), slow erase and programming speeds, large block sizes, etc. No different than M-Systems' TrueFFS or Datalight's FlashFX. Ironically, it was yours truly who introduced e.digital to flash memory oh so many years ago, when I was an applications manager at Intel and they were called 'Norris Communications' and built solid-state voice recorders.....
"No different than M-Systems' TrueFFS or Datalight's FlashFX." Does this mean we are not a unique as we thought? Can't be..... Still trying too understand our technology and how it fits.
