seems ODL does offer CFDs, but it's not clear to me whether everything is CFD-based or only their foreign equities and indices/commodities.

I hate CFDs and strongly recommend you never try and trade them with real money. The demos are always really slick, but once you go live, different story. Tons of CFD bucketshops out there so be very careful who you send your money to.

A lot of these reviews are probably from disgruntled traders who are looking for a goat to roast, but FWIW:
