In Q1, Opteron was installed in about 30k new servers.

At an average price of $3k each. How many $24k licenses of
Windows Enterprise edition do you think MS sold for them? :-P

What portion of a $3k server do you think goes to AMD? In
contrast IPF servers sold with 3x higher revenue in 1Q04
according to Gartner despite the smaller numbers. In 2003
Intel's IPF MPU revenue was about 20% of IPF server sales.
Unless you think AMD is making about $1800 in Opteron
sales for each of the $3k servers it seems inescapable that
IPF MPU revenue far exceeded Opteron MPU revenue.
