At least 15...prolly closer to 17 yrs for me...& bein that I'm pushin 46 I think it's safe ta say that I'll NEVER retire. That was our choice...to squeek by on a school teachers income so that our kids could have the luxury of at least 1 f/t parent at home w/em @ all times.
The flip side....payin for life on the credit cards trying to keep the balances from goin up at a horrific clip. if not for the last coupla yrs it wouldn'tve been so bad....but now it's gettin to the point where I aint so comfortable w/our finances....almost up to 25% of our annual sal in outstanding debt :0
It's really too bad we live in a society where unless one spouse makes 100K, both must work to even be able to consider saving some for retirement. I suppose we could move to South Dakota or somewhere like that...then again she'd be making less....what ya gonna do?
I figure by the time I gotta go get a job (approx 2 yrs from now), most of my 1st yr sal will go towards payin off the cc's.
OK....I've decided that the trickle down principal does indeed exist.....1 mos comin your way Nettles....& don't thank me....give the nod to Jester....& my Sun AM venti quad Sbux.....seems ta always put me in a good mood...ziiiiinnnng!!!! ;))
