Opinions do a 180 so easily. All it takes is for someone to make a negative post that snowballs and pretty soon everyone has done an "about face".

I believe that Petty is doing his best to see that this company succeeds. This is his first position as CEO of a company and as such will tend to make some mistakes. No CEO is going to tell investors the whole story and IMO he does a lot better than most.

As with most of us, we perform better when we feel we have the confidence of those around us. I'm sure it's no different for Mr. Petty.
