yes 2 or the 3 carriers i believe were in the pacific that day, but do you realize how much we lost that day, we lost almost enough to make us lose the war in the pacific, it was that damaging
of course we were operating against Japan, we even were training Chinese pilots with American P-40's I believe, and I also think we had a squadron flying mini bombing runs before Pearl Harbor, and we were supplying Britian with arms to defeat Hitler, of course we were helping our Allies defeat Japan and Germany, that was the smart thing to do
Japan attacked us because they knew we were going to be in the war eventually so they figured they would take out our entire navy while we they had the chance
