They come for one thing only. Some of our surgeons are the best because they come here from all over the world to practice surgery since they can make more money doing it. It doesn't mean that surgery as a rule is available to all in a more accessible or even more competent fashion.
We rank lower in total healthcare and have a higher infant mortality rate than many countries, including Cuba, a poor nation.
Really, Top. You can do better than this right wing propaganda. There are many special interest groups which do not want to see socialized medicine, not the least of which are the trial lawyers who make over 50% of their money from suing doctors and hospitals, the court systems which find a majority of litigation in this country related to healthcare lawsuits and the insurance companies which do not care if they have to pay out because it only entitles them to charge higher premiums.
In countries with socialized medicine all three of those specialized interest groups are crap out of luck.
The fact that we are the only major industrialized nation on the face of the earth which doesn't provide universal healthcare says a lot.
