Economic development agenicies offer loans at lower interest rates unually, don't think they were straight up grants in this case. Investors expect their money back and usually have stipulations, remember wasn't a public company back then. So to say he didn't use his own money is a spin. Most people who start businesses don't use their "own" money. You have points, I am just not sure what they are germane to. You say "a consistent track record of stable revenues and strong cash flows" these things don't happen overnight. You may be right, and may be proven right in the future, but currently you are making biased speculation, in my opinion.
