Calmly people, calmly.

We have already addressed the issue of the source of the content of the iBoxes in question and have been assured they will be corrected quickly.

Insofar as the number of boards moderated, we are monitoring that both in terms of boards moderated individually and in common with other users. It has not been of particular concern thus far for several reasons.

- Most of these are new boards for companies that had no board here previously. Clearly nobody else had exercised an interest in starting boards for those companies or they would have already existed. And, just because there is a board doesn't mean "they will come".

- Being a moderator and being an IRP are unrelated matters. As long as the site rules are followed there is no problem, as is the case for any user.

- If, repeat IF we determine there is a problem created by having so many boards moderated in concentration, it is easily remedied. After all, iHub does have the final word in the matter.

- It is self-correcting. We have a routine that runs on a fixed interval and returns boards to the Adoption Queue if certain criteria are met. We can also modify those parameters if needed.

- Someone brought up the issue of Member Marks. If individual users feel compelled for whatever reason to mark another member, that's their prerogative. We only take notice when there is blatant manipulation, and our Top PersonMarks page has some built-in filtering.

Bottom line:

We recognize there is some concern for the potential for abuse due to previously untraveled waters, and we appreciate both the reasons and the well-meaning intentions of those who have expressed their concern.. Fair enough - our antennae are tingling a little too. Nonetheless, we always consider utilizing prior restraint on the basis of potential bad acts to be the last recourse, not the first one. It's the same whether we are talking about partial or full board bans, suspensions, free vs. premium boards, or moderatorships.

I won't get into an active dialog on the matter. This post is just to let everyone know we're all aware of the concern, have discussed it on several occasions, and will continue to monitor and take corrective steps if/when warranted.

Enjoy the balance of your weekends. Another volatile week in the equity markets will undoubtedly follow. wink
