yes they can. they wont do that because they don't have any money to do it with. a few months a go they did a 2 billion share buy back. in my opinion they where hoping for the stock to go up on that pr and dump more shares on us. well the stock never moved up in price. they still kept dumping shares. a real company will dilute shares to use for growth. they would use that money for sales and marketing.once the company starts to become profitable there really isn't much of a reason to keep diluting.the hole purpose to go public is to raise money. a good company i feel once it becomes self sufficient it will take some of it's profits and start doing buy backs and retire the shares. when a company starts buying back stock it will also keep investores away from shorting the stock. who wants to short a stock if the company is buying shares. the chances are the stock will go up if the company is buying.
