I like the guys suggestion that says give every adult american $275,000 before taxes. Then you will see the economy turn around immediately. People will pay off home loans, car loans, buy new cars, new furniture etc and pay off all outstanding debts. The banks would then be flush with money again, and the recession would disolve overnight. And it would only cost the govt. $3 billion instead of the $7 billion to help the bankers go on $400,000 golf outings!
