Lol you do know the physical price for gold is up over $1000 right? In other words if you walked into a dealer that is what you would pay, and you would probably have to wait 2 months to receive your gold. Physical demand for gold is at an all time high. The interest rate that banks lend out their physical gold overnight or monthly to other banks and funds is at an ALL TIME HIGH-in fact its not even close. Real gold is not there to get right now. The price of the paper market for gold is around $800,(what you see at kitco for example) and is being HEAVILY manipulated by the Fed and other world banks to keep the price down for now for a number of reasons.....

Mainly while the US is printing all of this fake money to pay for the bailouts, they cant have the US dollar fall. When the US dollar falls, gold goes up. They need people buying the dollar to eat up these new dollars for the bailouts. But tell me how that makes sense? We are printing billions of new dollars, diluting the hell out of it, and yet the dollar is skyrocketing lol? Please. They also dont want it to appear as if inflation is out of control, so they ramp up the dollar. In addition, the paper market for gold is heavily traded by hedge funds who also invest in other commodities. These funds right now are dumping these baskets of commodities to pay for the redemptions they are receiving from people wanting their money back. That also affects the PAPER price of gold, but not the real price of gold.

This is setting up for an absolute perfect storm for gold. As this new money is absorbed, as housing and credit continues to falter, as the govt gets more and more into debt, there will be one safe haven...gold. I am expecting $2000/ounce by next spring.
