Tom, I don't know if the French used them in the time frame of the Scipion. We can probably assume that the bars 'belonged with' that wreck.

But you can take it to the bank that they're iron bars.

Anything new with your wreck? I'd be more interested to see the things that will come up from that one, although some of the Scipion artifacts are cool.
