And CapN,
I also don't think there is any chance that JU is setting up a sales outfit. I once tried to engage him in a comparative process of looking with a jaundiced eye at SpoozChartz verses some other charting packages. I have used all kinds of software and I was eliciting his reatcion to this or that and here was his actual response: "I'm agnostic abot SpoozCharz", he said. That was his actual statement. He was not the least bit interested in anything other than coding issues. He was simply "agnostic" about them.

EDITED: And by the way, people can rightly conclude that JU did not author SpoozChartz. He inherited it when he arrived. It was a decision Spooz made prior to buying out JU's company. Spooz got a thing called "AlgoServer" when it bought out JU's English company. Thats what the pearl of great price was. SpoozChartz, which I was using when I first began to talk with JU, was not his baby. He brought over AlgoServer as his particular "root". And out of trying to talk with him about SpoozChartz, I found out what he was actually focused on, and it was not SpoozChartz or product sales.

He is a programmer. He is a code master. I wrote code for years then I got the bright idea that I'd move into sales. Listen folks, the skillset is not the same. I fully understood his being "agnostic" about issues NOT revolving around code matters because I made the mistake of trying to move from being a dweeb to being in sales. I signed VAR agreement. I tried to become a sales guy whose strength was that he had an extensive background in tech/coding issues. Its a very hard thing to pull off.

And I've talked to him and heard him say multiple times, that as regards all areas other than code matters, he is "agnostic".... his term, not mine.

So there is no way Kai is a VAR setup to serve as a conduit for sales of Spooz. Thats my opinion. Its a coding & support shop, not a VAR/sales shop.

It has been set up to serve as the software development department and the software support department. It may eventually morph into more things, but Paul is an efficiency expert and he is focusing Spooz itself on the Bloomberg deal (no other outside sales efforts or people or marketing department or any such) and he has allowed/endoresed/promulgated/whatever the setting up of a separate company that JU will captain. I would be surprised if Paul Strickland is even on the BOD over there. I'd be surprised if it were not just JU running things. I'd be very surprised. No proof, mind you, but thats my guess. So, to be blunt, all of this ongoing angst about who/what/where/why Paul is as regards Kai.... I am agnostic.

Now bear in mind, I've never had a single conversation with anyone about this set of musings and opinions of things. I've had some conversations with JU that were code related and so forth, but the conclusions delineated above are merely ideas I hold that are rooted in these several converstations, out of which I gained a set of impressions that I've recounted here. As to it being certain... NOT. Opinions, but its like I climbed a ridge, lay down with a set of binocs and a hand held radio and talked with a guy I could see over there on the other ridge. We never met and wouldn't even know ech other if we passed on the sidewalk, but we have spent some time looking at each other from afar and talking about what we were both looking at from our particular vantage points. He was concerned with a certain set of thing; I with another, and my reaction to my dealings with him are that he is not setting this company of his up to be a VAR/sales outfit for Spooz. Support & code, yes. Sales/VAR.... no. Simple as that.
