Yes, Intel and Microsoft have tons of cash. But that will not stop runs on commercial banks, investment banks or money market accounts.

Thiel is an idiot. The problem is that the financial system is heading for a total lock up.

A serious question that I have been asking myself is where does Intel keep its $12 billion in cash? With all of the bank failures, you can't reliably put a billion here and a billion there in just any old bank where it might disappear. You can't keep the stash in $100 bills in a vault in the Noyce building in Santa Clara.
