Brown Calls for Global Solution to Global Problems September 26th, 2008
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown spoke on Friday regarding the economic turmoil now affecting markets around the globe. As he addressed the U.N. General Assembly, Brown practically demanded “a new global financial order” to combat what he called the world’s “first real financial crisis”. He stated that a new system of wholly-transparent financial standards and practices was called for, and that a worldwide state of isolationism should be out of the question. Indeed it seems that all nations will have to work together to avoid impending doom, and restore a relative equilibrium to financial markets. Brown added, that in order to quell this global state of upheaval, “We must clearly state that the age of irresponsibility must end.”
