Addax News - MILAN, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Italian oilfield services company Saipem SpA (SPMI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) has won $830 million in offshore drilling contracts, the company said on Thursday.

The three contracts are for the charter of Saipem's Scarabeo 7, Scarabeo 3 and Scarabeo 6 offshore drilling rigs in West Africa and Egypt, Saipem said in a statement. Saipem is 43 percent owned by Italian oil company Eni SpA (ENI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz).

Eni will use Saipem's semi-submersible Scarabeo 7 rig off West Africa for three years, with work commencing in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Canada's Addax Petroleum Corp. (AXC.TO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) will extend its charter of Saipem's semi-submersible Scarabeo 3 rig for use off the Nigeria for a period of two years.

The third contract, awarded to Saipem by Burullus Gas Co., extends the charter of the semi-submersible Scarabeo 6 rig for use in Egyptian waters for one year. It takes effect in the first quarter of 2010.

Saipem shares were off 0.31 percent at 22.77 euros at 0810 GMT. (Reporting by Ian Simpson; Editing by Quentin Bryar)
