this new rule banning the NS APPEARS to me to require a new set of software for the online brokers....

i kept hearing the talkingheads and hedge managers on CNBC "act confused" about the difference between NS and regular shorting, and i beleive that's cuz it was all NS'ing UNTIL delivery...

you gotta figure that daytraders that short and cover multiple times a day won't be able to do that now, if they enforce this rule..


i for one won't mind waiting for a long order to fill if it means we don't get sold nekked shorts anymore..

we'll see how it works out...

the DTC may force the MM's to keep more inventory?

i expect the change will be gradual.. (if there really is one)
