US heading for Depression?

This video from CNBC Asia is great. They have a guy who is willing to say that keeping your money in USD or Euros is no safe place, talks about the real inflation rate being around 11%, and that although we are seeing some deflationary pressures, ultimately we're going to see massive inflation and states emphatically that the prime directions people need to take to protect themselves are #1 get debt free and #2 buy precious metals. Beyond that he says once you get yourself positioned there then you could possibly look for bargains in the markets.
