In my opinion, older cars should not be the problem. The second computer only tells the main computer, "It's all ok, you can take the modified fuel".
The main problem (in my opinion) with newer/brand new cars will be warranty claims. As long as the car manufacturer hasn't approved the installation, you might be in trouble in case of a engine damage.
