Dave,

When I want to hold overnight and I do not want to use margin I use plain vanilla. During the day it has advantage.
Now if market goes against me I might be forced to cover it at a disadvantage place because short is only allowed in margin account.
I do not like to use margin over night, I will buy calls or puts for leverage in that case.
QID has better liquidity there is no doubt in that.
