The point you make about such a payment's impact is precisely why it was PR'd in the first place. It was an optimistic statement, but it's not based at all on blind optimism. There is every reason to believe at this point that eventually the insurance company will be paying it out.
Being a large sum, they will surely stall to a point. But they wouldn't still be gathering information so long after the event if they were not seeking to pay out the claim. The insurance company would need the information to be able to show justification for their decision and the amount dispersed.

It would be nice if this were to be reflected in the SP when the time comes. The timeline is controlled by the insurance company... unless they've printed the check, there's probably nothing to update at this time.
