Geez GP, it sounds more like a case legal system semantics.

In a civil trial the respondent may be found "liable" or "at fault" or some similar expression. Sometimes respondents who lose their cases are required to pay "triple damages," the legal fees of the plaintiff, and some sort of punitive damages, which are based upon the seriousness of the bad behavior.

IMO, a respondent being 'at fault' is still guilty of committing intentional wrongdoings.

The secret to profitable investing is to buy into well-run companies at the beginning of their earnings growth cycle—before Wall Street takes notice and bids up the stock price.
