Ike will pass through the FL straights and hit the loop. The current forcast looks like it is taking aim @ NO.

There is only one hope for the GOM coast at this point and that would be an unexpected increase in wind sheer.

Regardless when Ike hit the super warm water in the straights and loop current it WILL explode.

Max sustained winds COULD reach as much as 165 if it makes a CLEAN pass through the straights
