"what exactly is the purpose of the 'private thread' these days" -- No information is disseminated that would even be remotely considered public domain in regards to CSHD. Most of the posts are of a personal/offtopic nature, there is much about market conditions in general, LOTS of politics, a good dose of humor, and sometimes, RHP weighs in with his observations and predictions of the market, especially the mortgage crisis and corruption in high places. Little is spoken of in regards to CSHD, as it is all in the hands of the courts. It is a place for shareholders to hang, and hopefully not be viciously harassed by so call 'cyber-vigilantes'. If there is a single pump post urging anyone to buy CSHD stock, I have not seen it. There is a tight filter on who can get in and not which seems quite draconian at times, but as you can see, there is no lengths some will go too to get in there and make trouble ( like get a life people or what are you afraid of?), so it is necessary IMO. Don't take it personal. In short....you are not missing anything as far as CSHD info goes. Not a biggie and perfectly harmless, despite what some here claim.
