Actually ... I phoned ... there is a guy making these newer, improved Vortex mufflers that cite Aero as Prior Art.
Nice guy too.

So I guess they CAN prove it to be more efficient muffler

No confirmation available....how convienient.
At least the SOR give links, #'s, etc....
